Application for Admission

The Fremont STEM Academy is accepting applications!

Application Information

Students can apply at any time. Depending on space limitations, they will be accepted on a case-by-case basis.

Any Wisconsin student may apply. If you live outside of the Weyauwega/Fremont School District, you will need to fill out an Open Enrollment application with the DPI.

If applications do not exceed the established cap, all students will be accepted for admission, and no lottery will be held. If more applications than spots are available, we will hold our lottery at the regular meeting of the Governance Board. The random selection will ensure fairness and equal access. Those not receiving a spot during the lottery will be placed on a waiting list in the order drawn. An automatic enrollment preference shall be extended to siblings of students currently attending the school or alumni, children of founders, children of governance board members, and children of full-time teaching staff (founders, governance board members, and teaching staff’s children shall not make up more than 10% of the student population).

Tuition-free Public Charter School

As a public charter, we aim to overcome barriers that prevent a diverse population of students from participating in unique educational options.

We are still accepting applications for this current school year (2023/24). If you are interested in applying please fill out the application below and call our office to let us know of your interest.

WI DPI Open Enrollment Information

The regular open enrollment application period for the 2023-24 school year begins on February 5, 2024, and ends at 4:00 pm on April 30, 2024. The best way to apply is online (a link to the online application is at the top of this page during the application period).

An alternative application procedure allows pupils to apply for open enrollment at any time during a school year if certain criteria are met. For additional information, please visit the alternative application procedures page.

Nondiscrimination in Enrollment and Admissions

The Charter school will not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, or disability. The Charter recognizes the legal and social responsibility to take all feasible steps to enroll a student population that is reflective of the ethnic and racial diversity of the surrounding school districts. The goal of the charter school’s admission policy will be to attract, enroll and retain the broadest spectrum of students and families representative of our local community. The charter school will have an ongoing review of demographic data in the communities served to identify any additional outreach needed.
